The Fine Art of Crochet
I met Nathan Vincent when he was an artist in residence at the Museum of Arts and Design. I was immediately attracted to his work as I saw in him a kindred spirit. Our aesthetics are quite similar. We’ve since collaborated on a work together, and I look forward to many more collaborations.
Nathan’s work has a delightful sense of whimsy and humor while taking on real issues of power and morality, masculinity and sexuality, fear and comfort. His most recent work includes an instillation of bombs, explosives and other weaponry all made of yarn. This work will be on display in “DON’T MAKE ME count to three!” at Mighty Tanaka from February 15th through March 9th. The opening reception will be Friday February 15th 2013 from 6-9 pm.
